Yesterday was the first art class of our first semester. The class was the inspired class (4-8 years old), mainly to enlighten children’s imagination and drawing ability. Topic was to draw a calendar for February. Let’s first discuss how many days there are in February and how many days there are in a week. In this teaching process, because it was a bilingual teaching, the children learnt the numbers 1-28 in Mandarin and English as well as understood the Chinese and English pronunciation in February. In addition, children practiced how to draw straight and horizontal lines and count grids when making calendars.
.
Afterwards, we pre-booked the calendar and roughly framed space, and started to draw our favorite cartoons, games, animals, etc. Through this class, I also knew more about the hobbies of the students. While children were drawing and communicating with me and their peers, we also decided what to draw for the next class topic.
.
We completed our first art class in a relaxed and pleasant environment. Looking forward to seeing you next week, lovely students.
